Bug ID please!

I just wandered outside, and there are TONS of these teeny tiny black beetle like things everywhere. I can really see them on the rocks, and on my squash!!! I'm sorry I don't have a pic, but they are shiny, round, and literally smaller than a pin head. Any ideas?

Could they be flea beetles? This pick shows a striped one. Although the ones in my area, closer to z6, are all black and as you describe, smaller than the head of a pin.

Not sure... these look completly round... I can't even see a head on them!

It could be a cockroach, one of the inoffensive species. Or it could be a leaf. Maybe a closer shot? No excuse for a bad photo of something that isn't running away! :P Location helps too.

You'll know if they're flea beetles if when you disturb them, they jump like fleas. boing. boing. Flea beetles chew shotgun-like holes in the plant foliage. If they don't spring away and scatter, then they're not.
