how many grape plants per arbor?

I want to plant some grapes as a surprise for my husband on a small arbor. I have 2 questions:

How many grape vine/plants do i need or can i have per small arbor? I am thinking 2 plants-one on either side of the arbor, and they can meet in the middle. I am not sure if this is too much, and if 1 would properly cover an arbor or not. I'd like to have a couple varities that ripen at diff times.

I am looking for a concord-like or muscat like table grape. I am thinking to go with Venus and Jupiter - any experience w/these two types of grapes?? I like seedless, and I'v heard seedless concords are sub par.

I should mention that the arbor is 45" wide, 85" high, 25 deep.

I am also in the Boston area so if you have any suggestions on beter grapes (aside from the Venus and Jupiter) for my area, I am all ears. My hubby loves Concords but I hate them!!

Your thinking is correct.
One plant each side. Try to stick with one trunk up the center with short canes off to either side about every 2 feet.

How large is your arbor? Grapes take a lot of space, and to get good fruit, they need to be spaced about 6'-8' apart. You probably won't get good fruit for 3 years, but after that you will get a lot of fruit. It's best not to let them fruit for a couple years. When you allow them to fruit, the vine energy goes into the fruit and stunts the vine. The only flowers I've ever seen in the vineyards here are roses planted at the end of the rows, NOT to compete with the vines. Not sure about the root system of the Clematis. Good luck! Aprox how many Habanero pepeppers per plant

My first year growing them the Habs produced about 20 per plant but they were not properly fed (sickly green and spindly) and kept in small pots..plus I started them from seed in mid may so they got started late. I only got one harvest out of them before the frost killed them back in 2004..have not grown habs since until this year. Currently they each have about 30-40 flowers on them and 4 starting peppers, the plants are only the same size as my first attempt's were but they have yet to be moved outside and out of the small pots they are in.

Depends on the plant and the size container being used. I would not plant more than a single cuke in anything smaller than a 10G container but you can plant multiple carrots in a much smaller one (provided it is sufficiently deep).
