Info on growing/pruning blackberries & raspb. in container

Hi all,

It's acting like spring now in our zone...though it's 45 one day and 78 the next....still chilly at night w/possible frost. Haven't pruned the roses yet....will do so in a few weeks.

First year growing Red Heritage and Latham raspberries in a large container (1 each in same container) AND one plant each of Arapaho & Apache blackberries in another container, on our deck. Given to us by a fellow gardener.

The raspberries are starting to leaf out a little, don't know what to do-do we cut them some or do anything special? There are only a few stems so far.

Blackberries are just reddish shoots...no leaves yet....hopefully they are alive and just later to start leafing out than raspberries....

Googling for info is ok, but can anyone here in a similar cold zones tell me in plain English what we need to do to take care of and grow these plants? Any special NPK ratio on fertilizer, etc? Composted manure ok or not?

Any links to reputable websites would help......

Thanks! :0) Phyl
