Mine looks sort of like that but not elongated. I can't post pic with blackberry but there is a recent pic in blog.
So far I only have one charentais about the size of baseball.

yes they are charentais mellon's i juet finished the last
one yesterday i got 6 mellon's off my plant.
they are the best tasting mellon i have ever tasted !! you

p.s.,
the direction's on the pack of seed's said that the mellon
would be ready to pick when the leaf that is closest to the
mellon would die they would be ready to pick then,but in my case the mellon's where rock hard so i waited till the mellons was just firm (not hard)and could just bareley smell them and i still had to cut the stem to free the
mellons,hopeing this help's you.

Another way to know if melon is ripened is to look for the closest tendril to the melon is deed looking dark brown.

Thanks everyone for helping to identify the Charentais melon. I was not sure if it's a ogen melon or not. I grew so many melon plants that I mixed them up when transplanting.

How about this melon? Is it ogen melon or noires de cannes?

The honeydew looks like my orange honeydew. I posted poics in my blog (link in post above) and it has pics of melon the same size and 3 weeks bigger.

Thanks tammy, I came to realization that the first picture is probably haogen melon and the second picture is honeydew.
