ants and worms in strawberries
Comments (1)The first harvestable strawberries we've gotten have been when we started growing them in 5 gallon nursery liner pots instead of in the ground. The strawberries hang over the edge in space, away from the wireworms and pillbugs. Sprinkling Andro Ant Block around the pots have wiped out the ants, and we get the strawberries to ourselves....See MoreStrawberries s Ants
Comments (2)I'm not sure about your location, but ants will eat holes in strawberries. I don't get a lot of damage from ants; but still I put out Torro liquid ant bait when I first start to see them. Slugs and birds are by far the worst offenders, so bird netting and slug bait take care of most of that problem, and as the season progresses slugs become less of a problem and after the birds have fledged there young, so the birds become a little less of a problem... but there is always something that wants to get your berries, JMHO....See MoreAnts eating my strawberries
Comments (1)If you are not an organic gardener and if the ant hive is not in your garden area, you might investigate AMDRO. Hope it wasn't wrong of me to name a product ? Many people, myself included, find it takes care of ants. Boiling water poured on the hive does little more than slow them down. In master gardening class, they recommended blendering orange peels and pour that into the hive. Worked only once for me....See MoreAnts Eating my Strawberries
