The Pink Banana is a big squash, bigger than the Green or Blue Hubbard. Averages around 15-20 lbs but can be pushed to 30 lbs. For me it is more prolific than the Hubbards, but it is susceptible to the same diseases and to the SVB. It does not have the hard rind of the hubbard but is a good keeper altho not a match for the Hubbard in keeping qualities. Flavor is comparable, but I like the banana better for pies. It is not one that takes up less room. If you want to save space and avoid the SVB grow one of the smaller C. moschatas like Butterbush.

Update: so from the seeds I got from fresc1000 last year, from the three plants I grew this early spring, I got 11 of various sizes. 5 were over 20lb each, of which one I already cracked open and ate (the previous pictured one), and the rest are smaller. The plants are pretty much done, succumbing to a combination of squash bugs, squash vine borers,and powdery mildew. But what a great harvest! Now I need to figure out what I am going to do with ALL THIS SQUASH!!! It was an awesome spring for squash. I also have a bunch of acorn squashes, and spaghetti squash. My family is going to get sick of squash!
