Discouraged, want to give up

I've never been so discouraged about my vegetable gardens.

This has always been such a huge passion of mine, but this year, I just don't know about this anymore. I'm depressed about it.

My plants are huge, leafy, full of fruits. But nothing will ripen. Nothing. I get maybe a handful of ripe veggies a day, and they're lackluster.

We've had a long, long stretch of 95+ degree days, but nothing.

I've noticed many, many bug eaten tomatoes. Some of them have a big bite out of them. I think there are bugs and varmints everywhere, which I don't understand, because I have reptiles everywhere which should be keeping these in check.

This morning was the last straw. In my brandywine area, my largest tomato was big, fully pink, half-eaten and lousy with bugs.

Apparently I don't get to eat anything this year, because I'm just growing large, succulent, sweet vegetables for the pests.

I'm not sure if nothing is ripening, or if I just have thieves taking my ripe beauties.

Makes me want to tear it all out and do the zen japanese garden I've been dreaming about.

Ugh.
