I agree with Flora - its not rust. The following spray should help - it's an excellent all-rounder: GARLIC SPRAY: Soak 1/2 cup crushed garlic cloves in 1/2 cup vegetable oil for one week. Add a little liquid soap and dilute the mixture - 1 part mixture to 10 parts water. Garlic spay will kill and repel aphids, woolly aphids, bean fly, stink bugs, crickets, grasshoppers, red spider mite, sawfly larvae, scale, snails, slugs, thrips and caterpillars, mosquitoes and ticks, the adult moths of leaf-miners and mealy bugs. It is an effective fungicide when used 3-4 times a week against potato blight and damping off. OR Crush 100g garlic, 2 chillies and 2 onions and cover with water for 24 hours. Strain and add enough water to make up 2 litres.

No and no. Mint lowers the number of mosquito bites you get, but ONLY if you crush the leaves and rub them on all the exposed skin. Growing it near your patio doesn't help. It will temporarily confuse an ant trail if you rub a leaf across the trail, but I have ant colonies in my mint beds. It works really well to repel spiders, but only on Pinterest. Real spiders aren't repelled. And mint can root from a sprig that touches ground as well as by runners under ground. Pick a place where you can control the water. It won't spread into dry soil.

Yeah I was going to suggest that because it shoots out runners like lemon balm. Some times plants can do amazing things. Had a dirty pond, threw some straw on top...clear pond. Had mosquitoes...tossed a shovel full of lemon balm on top and the vampires went away. I'm on one site right now and it says peppermint oil. They also mention ammonia soaked cloth. Of course I left out the obvious choice a cat.

I think the cat is 2 years old. She chews on the dust flaps on the bottom of the couch, corners of wooden furniture, dried flower arrangements, all her toys which may be plastic, fabric, or mylar strips, or even fur, she loves shoelaces. My parents take her to the vet regularly but I don't know if checking teeth thoroughly is included in the regular checkup. This cat used to suck on my parents' necks at night or if my dad took a nap during the day. They (especially my dad), would wake up with cat hickey's on his neck each morning (no kidding.) So to me this indicates the cat is highly anxious for some reason or was weaned too early. I think both cats were gotten from the Humane Society or another similar org which specializes in just cats. Where do I get bitter apple? Is it an oil from the health food store? An air freshener they would put on their dried plants?
