Root Knot Nematodes(RKN) will attach them, so never plant them with or in soil that had nightshade plants the year before. Nightshade is tomatoes,peppers,egg plants & white potatoes. I know a gardener that plants his Okra in red clay to make it hard on the RKN. Soak the seeds over night, then plant. My father planted an acre of okra one year & we sold it at the market. Near the end of the season the price fell, & father had made a good profit, so we let the okra go to seed. Then we picked the dry pods & gathered the seeds. We used the 2 pounds of seed for 3 years, with no problems. RKN will harm a fig tree to, some never plant tomatoes or okra near them.

I don't think it will hurt the lemon trees because it's a small part of their soil volume. But I'm not speaking from first hand experience. It just seems that they should get what they need from both the low pH and high pH areas within their rootzone. I don't think the low pH soil would poison the lemons with too much of anything.

We have both blueberries and everbearing raspberries. They are about 30 feet apart. I have never seen any evidence of disease that passed between them. However, I would not be inclined to mix them or plant them next to each other, in the same bed. The raspberries spread aggressively, so I would have to try and control them, without disturbing the blueberry roots. Also, blueberry roots, which mostly grow near the surface, must be kept moist. This requires attention and care during the August drought, and at other times of low rainfall. It would be even more difficult to keep these shrubs watered if they were competing with raspberry canes for moisture. Blueberry shrubs do best when the bed is kept free of weeds.
