Kind of hard to tell due to the blown-out pictures. If your camera has manual control I would put it there.

Does it have a blue throat patch?

Coloration would help.
I have lizzards too and they are cute. I have little baby ones running around right now with bright blue tails.

scarletdaisies - I hope you don't mind but I did a quick edit on one of your photos in Photoshop to hopefully make the lizrd more identifiable, however, I wasn't able to help it much.

I think that phantom white is right about it having blue under it. My bet would be either an eastern or western fence lizard. The babies are also really cute - they look like an adult, just mini. Wikipedia has a few pictures and a description.

That is what it looks like and there are markings on its back like that of the first pic, not of the eastern and western pics. The blue tailed ones are skinks and we have those too running around the yard.

Strange day outside, saw a lizard, a hoverfly and now I know why they are called hoverflies. They are like helicoptors staying in one place, then dart off. Also saw a frog on the outside of my garden. Got lucky since this past rain.

The markings on this one aren't as pronounced or grown as the older ones pictured. He's really really cute!! Little guy with human like fingers and toes accept they are long, a nice graceful head. I almost thought he was a tadpole.

What aboug a Brown Anole?

He's got lighter stripes on his sides than the middle, almost a yellow, but I didn't really get a good look at him.

From what I can see it looks like a brown anole. They are common in most of Florida. There are green anoles also.

Whatever he is they are great friends. My mosquito and many more insects have their population kept lower because of their eating habits.

He's definitely a brown anole. I got a good look at him this morning. He meets me every day, him and the hoverfly. The bees are flying like crazy in the morning.

I have some kittens hanging around the house and their mother, so I hope they don't get frisky and eat him. They stay to the other end of the yard.

I'm hoping the little guy gets a belly full every day. He's really cute and I didn't need to catch any to let loose, they just showed up this week and a half.

I'll try again, 3 times failed, to get a better picture of him. He's not afraid of me and lets me get almost a foot and a half before he gets edgey and runs off.

Not an anole. Check out the images of fence lizards again. And it is important to know your general location.

Perhaps he's there to sell you car insurance. Does he have an accent?

That would help. Not an expert mind you, but I have seen hundreds of brown anoles in Florida. Also, I have kept them as pets and this sure looks like one. However, I would not expect to see one in Zone 7.

FWIW, anoles are commonly referred to as "chameleons", which is a misnomer. I have kept chameleons, the real ones once featured in Budweiser commercials. Talk about cute! Much cuter than the insurance ad lizards.

{{gwi:85779}}I've seen other photographs of anole lizards looking like a fence lizard, so maybe it's hard to tell the difference. The anole lizard above doesn't look like mine in that picture, but there were definitely others that were very similar.

He's cute I know that and I have no intention to kill him to see his belly, but maybe I can put a clear glass he can crawl on? That will be nice. He prefers my tomato plants is all I'm happy about. They are doing good for as late as they were planted. One bush is loaded with about 12 small green tomatoes.

Buy meal worms from the pet store. He'll be eating out of your hand in two days.

My husband is the neighborhood St. Francis of Assisi. He feeds the scrub jays, the doves, you name it, and he feeds the lizards. Now they run down our driveway and bite at my sandals, determined to wrest some mealworms out of the toes.

Your lizard is a Sceloporus of some sort. If it's a male, you may be able to see some blue in the scales on his back. When he gets close, see if you can look through his ear. It's bizarre- you can see straight through their little heads.

That's cool! I'll try to see through his ears! I can feed him with blue tailed ones too, hopefully they are eating their belly full of aphids, squash bugs, and earwigs.

If you can get at eye level with it try bobbing your head at it. They will often respond by sort of doing push ups. It's fun. Actually he thinks you are challenging him for territory.

That's cute. I didn't see him this morning, but when I watered the garden he ran out of the tomatoes. He loves the tomatoes. I wonder what he'll do? Charge at me? Not sure I want him to think I want his spot.

They won't fight to protect their territory. It's kind of a contest to see who can do the most push ups when another lizard comes around. The one that quits first loses and has to leave.
