Do you mean do a trade for both the salvia and zinnia? Or 40 zinnia seeds?
Sure. It's up to you.
What I am going for are seeds from a plant(s) that you grow and love..a proven plant you repeatedly grow from seeds.
I have tried so many that do not do well. 37 varieties two years ago and over 24 last year. Only a limited number were real winners. I tryed many highly hyped new seed varieties provided as test samples by the seed developers. Sometimes in southern home gardens they just don't do well with the heat, humidity, local bugs, etc.
So I was going to do a "Your best for my best" trade to improve the odds. But if a person did not want my best (Yvonne's salvia) than the Zinnia was a alternative; it's new and I have not evaluated it, yet. But it is a tetraploid zinnia and those are rare.
Regarding the stamp. I found a way to send seeds in an envelope with foam that takes one stamp instead of the $1.60 I have been paying. You can use what I send it in and your return postage would be a single stamp.
What method of mailing do you use? Sure would like to learn some alternatives that get the seeds safely to their destination without expensive mailing costs.

I would love some of Yvonne's Salvia seeds! I have to say I am obsessed about collecting seeds from my pink columbine. They have a high germination rate and have done very well for me for years! I also have some blue flax seeds and some white blooming, garlic chive seeds. I have been impressed with the garlic chives. This was my third year growing them and I have to say they are a keeper.

Thanks for the replies Bob, figured what you meant except for the postage as I've always sent different seed packs in a padded envelope and usually 3 stamps, imagine coral vine seeds wouldn't be suitable for plain envelope as they are rather bulky...what I meant with more than 2 pkts - overall, adding more variety while at it, getting most for the postage, but am ready to trade for 2 of yours and whatever way you ship I'll ship mine, adding extras- glad to share what does well, let them spread in new homes.
You can choose at least 2 of your favorites from my list, I'd like both of yours, sure if you have plenty double pkts would be good,let me know what you decide...thanks.

Nothing says reliablity and longevity like natives: rudbeckia,plains coreopsis and echinacea.

I planted Gompherna "Fireworks" last year. Huge sprawling plants. Definitely a winner. The zoo planted a few here and there this year and were shocked when they saw how large they got. Absolutely beautiful.
My space is very limited so I did not plant them this year, but a plant came up anyway. I waited and waited for the blooms. Then came the blooms. Tiny white flowers on an arching 1 inch section. Not the original bloom. Must be what they crossed it with.
My question is..have you found that the reseed true?
Incidentally they make great dryed flowers. You can keep the blooms for 6 months in a dry vase...same look as fresh.

Bea - I go for flowers that are great for picking and my favorites right now are orange cosmos [love that color!] and rudbeckia triloba [prairie coneflower] Would love to trade for both your goodies. I have seed of Asclepias curassavica and Talinum paniculatum 'Kingswood Gold' if you are interested. The Asclepias is a wonderful host plant for monarch butterflies.

I was just outside looking at my Asclepias Curassavica. The hornets and yellow jackets visit along with butterflies.
I think I understand why, because the bees don't seem to be getting pollen.
They eat the caterpillars and as a result want to make darn sure that host is around to ultimately give them their caterpillars. When I see caterpillars I remove them from the plant and place them in a safe place; then I feed them the plant.
Anyway, email me and give your address and we will do the trade for the Talinum paniculatum.
Incidentally, hummingbird love this salvia. Oddly so do redbirds.

Glad to hear it comes back true. I could kick myself for not saving that one volunteer that came up. It was not true and might have been a cool plant anyway. I yanked it because I needed the space.
Firework seeds are expensive... cheapest I have seen is 100 for $11.
I got it 2 years ago when several of us put in seed orders with a wholesale type seed company. We ordered our own individual seed choices, then we split the seeds with everyone. Fortunately, someone ordered it.
At the zoo, people on the butterfly tour were grabbing the flowers from Fireworks for the seeds and I was concerned that the flower would not repeat for them. Glad to hear that they will.

I am sending about 20 seeds. Believe me if you collect the seeds from this first batch you will have all you will ever need. I put them everywhere in my yard. When planting as a group, which is very showy, plant about 12-18" apart.
If you have intense sun, plant these in light shade. They are not like normal salvias. They mutated in Mass.

Hi Bob,
My favorite is Nicotiana alata which blooms all summer (more fully open at night), is fragrant and reseeds. I also love Snapdragon Black Prince. Not only is it a beautiful garnet color but it bloomed through our entire brutally hot dry summer even when everything else was drooping - so it might make it in your zone. I'd love to try your salvia.

Regarding Belinda's Dream: Of all of the hundreds and hundreds of roses, the AARS only recommends two for the Southeast, which is pretty amazing. See link below. It is the only Hybrid tea that is highly fragrant and does not get blackspot or diseases.
