A different type of acorn squash?

I planted a "surprise" plant that was sprouting in a cell with a bell pepper that I bought at a nursery. I figured by the cotelydons that it was probably either a squash or a melon. Turns out to be some type of acorn squash, but it's not a solid dark green like the ones I see in the store. The fruits are mottled light green/white with a few darker flecks here and there. They are very pretty. Anybody have a clue what it might be? (Sorry, no pictures, still haven't replaced my camera.) And this plant is HUGE and so far nicely prolific. Can't wait until one of the squashes is big enough to pull and eat and hopefully we will be able to evade the SBs and SVBs and have a nice harvest this fall. I'd also like to save some seeds from them for next year.
