try taking fish oil daily. I have ADHD and this calms me down. Exercise is another thing you might need. There is an amount of exercise for altering mood, and it is every bit as good as most drugs. The main side effects are you sleep better, look better, and calm down. Generally the amount you need is 20 minutes a day to start of fairly brisk walking, swimming, weight lifting, running, whatever you want to do to keep moving. As the Buddhists say, magnify small progress. The next thing is B vitamins. These are essential for nerve function. The 50mg doses might be a good idea for you. Also you need magnesium to make them work. Good sleep is not possible to any real extent if you have mineral deficiencies. Take a calcium/magnesium suppliment before bed. The amounts for both should be about equal. 500mg or so. Make sure you are getting enough B12. This can take some experimentation, as many people do not digest it well. Start looking at what you do and find out what you need for your lifestyle in terms of all the vitamins. Food no longer supplies those because the soil is depleted, and plants can't give you what they don't get themselves. This is true of animals as well. You will find that your life is oh so much more bearable if you do these things.

What I mean is that people seem to frequently resort to trying to find flaws in someone's argument(often with Latin names), because they lack the ability to appropriately reason, and so attempt to evade it by trying to apply whichever one of the 200+ logical fallacies that they can remember. That statement only shows your lack on knowledge on the many differences in types of medicine. I'm not claiming that the rules of scientific inquiry somehow don't apply, but that it would be foolish to treat medicine styles with completely different rules, main concepts, and treatments, as similar. To say that "sham" acupuncture works as well as the "real" thing means you must have some way of measuring the effects. Because acupuncture and acupressure is based on releasing the flow of "qi" in the human body, there is no way you can reliably measure it's effects beyond anecdotal responses. The closest thing I have heard to this are the machines used in biophoton therapy, and even that is questionable as to whether it's the same thing as what Chinese medicine considers "life force". I didn't say they were unqualified to study it, I said they shouldn't form theories on it, trying to make all forms of alternative medicine fit the same confines of mainstream medicine. Anyone who knows what they're talking about(at least in their respective field of therapy) should be able to easily take a challenge against the research they provide with a proper response. But it also goes the other way around as well, since just because a person isn't able to argue their research accordingly, doesn't mean the research is always wrong, even though some people may attempt to construe some points as flawed.

Before recommending any treatment for leg edema (herbs, supplements, exercise, dietary restriction, "spa treatment" etc.) it's important to get a reliable diagnosis of what's causing the problem. There's a host of potential causes for leg edema, including heart failure, liver and kidney problems, venous thrombosis, venous insufficiency, malignancy, obesity, side effects of certain drugs and so on. In addition to some causes being readily treatable, others will lead to serious problems if people go without proper diagnosis and try to paper over the problem with agents not shown to provide symptomatic relief. One herbal remedy for venous insufficiency that may provide modest relief of leg edema is horse chestnut extract. But again this isn't something you'd want to start taking without knowing the reason for your leg edema. As to downton's herbal shopper site - it's not completely without useful information, but I'd do without pricey unproven supplements like "Aquadrene" and "Watershed" (some of this stuff sounds like it's being promoted for bodybuilders, who are notorious for abusing their bodies for short-term appearance benefits). And as for advice like this: "...drink plenty of water(the more water you drink the less water your body retains)." Um...nope.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I know this is not what you asked, but I thought I'd share something I read a while ago. I don't really know if it has any medical fact or not, but thought you may be interested in doing some of your own research on it. It appears some think that asthma attacks can be caused buy dehydration and that keeping hydrated can help offset some attacks. Again, I'm no expert and I know too much of anything it never good, but you may just want to keep an eye on dehydration especially if you have exercise induced problems. Here's an article on the subject. I think there are some books written on the subject too. But, be sure to check with your doctor before you try or change anything drastically.
