2) No. But most of the spraying is for diseases, not bugs so you mainly need a good disease controller. I would say copper in the form of Kocide 3000 plus a good sticker such as Nufilm 17 is the best single organic spray for grapes. The only bug problem I have is Japanese beetles and milky spore works on them. Make sure to get disease-resistant grape varieties, grapes differ greatly in how disease-susceptible they are.

I like Autumn Ridge Nursery for grapes and other plants. They're the cheapest I've found. Also, Soapshield from Gardens Alive is a good disease spray. It's a fixed copper fungicide, no sulfur needed to control powdery mildew. Some grapes are sensitive to sulfur. It does good here in WV on my grapes, roses, apples, strawberries and tomatoes. It works on more, but that's about all I use it on. I just add a tablespoon on dishwashing liquid to each gallon of spray and it suffocates bugs and their eggs while it controls disease.

Since we're talking grapes and organic, I'll ask a question I've been wondering about:

Can you spray copper and sulphur on grapes and still consider them organic?

As far as I know, since copper and sulfur are natural elements, I don't see why they wouldn't be considered organic. You have to watch out when using sulfur. Some grapes are sensitive to it...

From a legal standpoint (USDA certified organic standards) you'd have to use a form of sulfur that's OMRI approved to be organic.

I guess they are natural elements, but when I think of organic, I think of compost and garlic sprays, not some "chemical" that has all sorts of health warnings all over the bag.

I know what you mean, but I wonder if the average consumer would think of copper and sulphur as organic.
