Scaly Bark and Stone Mountain Watermelon

rodger

I am growing Stone Mountain and Scaly Bark watermelon this year in isolation for seed preservation. The Scaly Bark seed came from Gary Millwood in Louisville Ky at the Annual Appalchian Heirloom Seed Conservancy get together last Oct. I would like to know if there is anyone here who is familiar with these melons and can give me some more information on Them. Both Melons were very popular in my area of South Carolina in the 30-50s especially the Stone Mountain, Scaly bark was more of a novelty melon. I would appreciate any responses espescially from those who have grown or seen these melons. Rodger
