Delayed Dormant Spraying Oil with Lime Sulphur

lensmail

In a week or two the temperatures and green tip growth will be ready for a cleanup spray of dormant oil. Some sources suggest using an oil and lime/sulphur combination. Other sources suggest "Do not apply oils in combination with sulfur or sulfur-containing ..." and "...most oils prohibit their use within 30-days of a sulfur application."

Which line of advice is appropriate for this time of year?

I expect to follow up the first application with a second, oil only application on the pear trees 7-10 days after the first. Will this result in plant material damage since it is within the 30-day window?

Thanks for your comments.
