Robada apricot - sweet pit variety

According to the patent on Robada apricot, it is a sweet pit variety, with no amygdalin detectable by taste. Thought Fruit Nut might like to know.

Also according to the patent, Robada bloomed 20 days earlier than its parent, Orangered, in Fresno, in 1995. The difference may be due to higher chill requirement for Orangered, as Robada is recommended as a pollenizer for Orangered by Fowler Nursery in Placer County (these are the only apricot varieties it sells). This may make Orangered a good pollenizer for Canadian White Blenheim where chill is also marginal for the latter variety (assuming that it has viable pollen). Orangered ripened 25 days after Robada in Fresno in 1995. It is reportedly self-sterile. I believe that it was developed in New Jersey. It is a commercial favorite in France.

It looks like I may get a little fruit on my CWB this year. I had some pollen from Golden Amber, Chinese and a late-blooming branch on the Harcot tree.
