My potatoes planted by Good friday

Hey all,

The old timers advice around here is to have your potatoes in by Good Friday. On that advice, I planted potatoes on Maundy Thursday this year. More accurately, I mudded 'em in. We had quite a winter here with 100 inches of snow, breaking the previous record by more than 20 inches. I was sick of winter and decided to thumb my nose at mother nature. She thumbed hers back. it snowed another 4 inches on Good Friday. The row to the far right is the row I put in March 20th. The other rows were planted 2-3 weeks later in much better conditions.

Moral of the story - Don't mess with mother nature.

Otherwise, I think this year is the best year ever for the garden. Everything is growing nicely albeit about three weeks late. It's been a very cool spring.
