The Lycoris bulb is doing its' thing. The Swedish ivy (Plectranthus verticillatus) coming out of the top of this pot has been there for a while. The cuttings on the side were added in the past couple weeks, but still blooming. Tradescantia sillamontana and Begonia 'Sinbad.' Until moving them to AL with me, these elephant ears (Colocasia esculenta,taro,) were a potted house plant, stored in basement for winter. 2 Summers ago, I had one that bloomed, but this year, several of the offspring of the original bulb are finally big enough to do it too. They're not much to look at, a yellow thing sticking up in the middle of the leaves, but just the idea that they're there is really cool to me, after having these bulbs for so many years. The red thing is Lycoris radiata (red spider lily/naked lady/hurricane lily.) Looks like there were a bunch of them! I don't see these daily, they're @ my Mom's house. Apparently I hadn't taken a good look at "my" plants over there for a few weeks.

Sounds like you got screwed, I fear. JWP seeds are 10-12mm long. Do they have persistent seedwing bases (a ridge round the edge of the seed), or smooth? Any white pine will have the former, a hard pine the latter. If the seeds are small (6-8mm) and with a ridge, then likely Eastern White Pine. Can you post a close-up photo? Resin

i have a beautifull one as a centerpiece and it gets rave reviews from everyone that see's it. it does drop leaves but it is way woth that annoyance. it is up lit at night and really shows. they do have little barbs on the edges of the leaves but i dont really have any reason to get poked by them. as far as the seeds go they are very interesting to see hanging and you can avoid the mess by cutting the whole bulb off as soon as it starts to turn yellow. if you wait for it to dump on its own its a pain picking them all up. never had one sprout. you will get constant compliments and comments on the tree.
