Eggs on my okra seedling?

Not sure how well you can see these, but there appears to be some clear eggs on the underside of my okra seedlings. First time trying to grow okra, hoping their growth picks up soon. Any help I'ding these would be appreciated, they are not on any of my other plants.

not sure of the technical term but okra leaves "sweat". I freaked out the first time I saw it too but it is perfectly normal.

Lol, I kind of thought it was just dew droplets, but when I did not see it on any of the nearby plants, I kinda panicked a bit. Lol I guess I can stop trying to kill the water droplets with soapy spray :)

Okra just does that. It'll get on plants under the okra when the okra gets big, too. I've never seen it harm anything, especially plant growth or pod production. I think it may be part of the plant's transpiration process, but I'm not sure about that.

Thanks for your respones, I appreciate your knowledge. This is the first time I have grown okra in over 15 years and I am anxious to enjoy a mess of fried okra. I is one of my favorite vegetables and it is very difficult to find good okra in the supermarkets in my area. I have planted 10 Emerald and 3 Clemsen Spineless 80 and numbered each plant. I plan to keep production records and keep seed for the best producer. Sue Ellen

It is a normal secretion. It'll get on plants/leaves under the canopy of the okra, too. It's pretty much totally harmless. It does look a LOT like eggs especially when they semi-harden into beads. Okra is one of my favorite unintentional trap crops. It tends to attract the most pests of anything in the garden, but it grows SOOOOOOooooooo fast that the plant can keep up with the beetles, leaf miners, and non-ant-aided aphid visits until the beneficials or my insecticide soap shows up to greet them.

That a new one on me, I have grown okra with my father then on my own. I never heard of it "SWEATING", this is why I like this site, you never know what you will learn.

As was said, normal. Fluid exuded by the leaves/stems.

I heard that only humans and pigs would eat okra. Lol
This year for the first time ever, rabbits are munching on my plants and they completely destroyed my neighbors. Spraying liquid sevin stops or at least slows them until the next rain washes it off but I mire up in mud if I try to go into garden right after a rain. Today I mixed some powdered cayene with the sevin.

really, youre slowly killing the rabbits with toxic chemicals and maming them with hot pepper? ever hear of fences, or at least something that kills them quick... youre a great addition to the human species...

the deer wiped out my first round of okra this year. I put up one of those motion sensing sprinklers and they haven't been back. Works for bunnies too. The funny part of it is that the Cardinals have figured out if they land on the cuke cage they can get a free bath.

I would kill them more quickly with my pellet gun if they were not nocturnal. I would mix arsenic with my spray but I'm afraid neighbors dogs would eat the dead rabbits.

Slowly killing the rabbits-oh boy I can't wait. I used to trap, trying to be humane. ha do you have any idea how often they reproduce and what amount?? Same with deer, At least we don't have the problem here they have in the east.. I'm willing to live and let live, but when they come in hordes, its too much.

Have you had any roblems with ants farming aphids on your okra? This is my first year growing okra and both plants are covered in ants and aphids. tomorrow, i'm buying corn meal to kill the ants and dawn to spray the aphids. the okra seems to be the only thing they are bothering. planted right next to thriving cukes and yellow squash... i've never had the ant farming issue before. i've had ants in one corner and aphids in another but this year they are working together! ick! I bought one of those plastic owls and have a motion sensor light, takes care of the rabbits and bunnies just fine and we all get to live and let live. :)

Whew, I have those translucent tiny beads on my plants, and was waiting to see what horrible bug was going to hatch and eat my plants to the ground, lol.
