I use the Kocide 3000 because so many people recommended it here. I don't have any experience with the Bonide copper. -Glenn

Thanks glenn, my plan of protection for my new peach and plum trees are going to be Copper, Daconil, and Captan. I found this pdf to be quite useful in when to apply what. I've used trazicide on my vegetable garden before and think I will stick with to nuke all bugs.

My experience with peaches is limited, and I've got no experiences with plums, so I can't tell you if your plan is solid or not. I do use the Kocide3000 on all my apple trees and it, along with the Immunox has solved most of my problems there. I too use the Trazicide on my fruits and I agree it's good stuff. -Glenn

I have heard many on here say "Kocide 3000". But I applied it to my dormant apple trees last fall( 1 tablespoon per litre of water) and did not see any residue left on compared to other copper fungicides I have used.

I used a calcium hydroxide type of copper spray and it left residue on the surface....which I like cause it shows it is staying on the limb to fight bacteria.

I used Kocide 3000 twice. Once I saw nothing on the trees or the ground. But the second time, there was snow on the ground and I did see a light blue residue.

I don't see a whole lot of blue on the trees for a long time, but then again, I don't see any scab either.

Many people suggest applying the Kocide with a sticker. I just use dormant oil, but a more effective sticker would probably work better. Did you use a sticker? If not, that could be the difference.

I see that Kocide 3000's active ingredient is Copper hydroxide. The bonide earlier is copper sulfate.

I just went to lowes this past weekend and saw that they had Southern Sag for 8 dollars or so. Much cheaper then trying to get either of those online. I hope this works equally as well. It's active ingredient is Copper ammonium complex.

Bonide is a copper soap almost like a plant dust. Kocide has a much higher percentage of copper by volume so it is a great dormant tree disinfectant. Johnnys has Kocide. Then I used a systemic fungicide called propiconizole. BR totally disappears.

The chart you linked has Daconil as only great for Peach Leaf Curl. 3336 and Immunox are better for other common problems.

You know what, I forgot why I even need Daconil since the copper basically covers everything Daconil does. I have grapes and raspberries/blackberries plans so Immunox will be great for those guys too.

Okay! Plan of action, Copper, Immunox, and Captan!

Also, just to double check. I should NEVER spray sevin or triazicide in liquid concentrate on my trees/canes if they are going to bloom in days? It'll kill the bees right?

It's been discussed before, but KOCIDE 3000 doesn't require as much material to be effective. That's one of its advantages. It doesn't require as much on the trees as some traditional copper formulations.

No need to worry about your trees being blue (unless your a smurf).
