I LOVE your plant combinations! Truly inspiring, especially the varigated iris (I think that's what it was) and the burgundy leafed plants with it.

Bountiful garden you have there. Your family must be eating lots of fresh veggies. I have tried to grow cabbage and brocolli, but the cabbage worms are awful. I know you can use liquid seven on them, but I'm a little hesitant about that. Just yesterday I had my brother buy me 2 cabbages, so I can make cabbage and ham today. Yours look great. I know you have a different climate in Oregon, maybe you don't have as many problems as the humid south. I also use cinder blocks in some of my raised beds. In the cinder block holes I usually put flowers that aren't too tall.....Thanks for posting video, enjoyed it.

Barb, Thx so much") Jerriedee, Thx, That plant with white and purple flowers is an annual phlox called 'dutch tapestry' It comes as a mix. But this is the one That I love most. Blooms even after a few frosts- a nice easy keeper. Yes I made teh porch to have that view within a view concept. Juanita, That is an elephant ear. Called 'Odora' Which I got at walmart in the spring as a bare bulb a few years ago. Stores well. The largest leaf measured 36 " wihtout measuring the stem too. I have them as houspants now that it is winter, as well as dormant in the basememnt. Harriet, That colt is a Missouri foxtrotter. If horses were cars this breed would be a Mercedes! There are pictures of his older brother and this ones birth in the photo gallery for pets. He was sold a few months back. Thx!

Beautiful spring photos everyone, I can't believe how way ahead you gals are in your gardens, are you sure your zone 3. LOL... My garden is just starting ;) I had some crocus blooming but the damn pocket gopher ate them before I could take a photo! Pulsatilla vulgaris Pasque Flower Tulipa tarda syn. T. dasystemon Narcissi Trumpet King Alfred Daffodil (first bloom, they are just starting) Chionodoxa forbesii Puschkinia libanotica is pushing right thr some Lamb Ears. The first of the Tulips just starting as well. Lovely pictures! I like the color scheme. I want to do the same only have lighter yellows and to throw in some more white & pink colors. How drought tolerant is larkspur? For purple in my garden I've chosen coneflowers, salvia & catmint all because they are fairly drought tolerant plants (and I don't like to water a lot!). I believe I saw some ornamental grasses? Any favorites?

Yes ann there is variagated tall bearded iris
marryanne- that is called artemisia 'silvermound' and it is a delight to touch- soft as silk, and a drought tolerant perennial for full sun:) Walmart carries them in early spring. Allow 4 ft across- that's how big some of mine like that one get.
