Can I save these guys?

We have really had a tough time this summer with the raccoons getting into everything. They caught him finally last night but he had done so much damage. What kind of loving care and how can I try to save some of these plants? He knocked over one of my potted blueberries, and it has no leaves and looks like a stick in the ground with berries at the top. Also knocked over my cedar barrel which had about 20 six inch tall tomato plants, some seedlings ( I think it is wishful thinking to save the one zucchini plant that was waiting to be transplanted. Right now I have picked up some soil and dumped tomato plants and they are soaking in some water. I can try to pot them up and how to baby them? Fortunately my DIL had already transplanted about ten, but it has been in the nineties, so don't know whether they will make it. HE's in raccoon heaven now, but I still have a get-even attitude towards him. BARB

Not sure about the blueberries and zucchini, but the tomatoes can be planted deep and they will be just fine. You can prune off the lower leaves and branches and bury them to within a few inches of the top of the plant. They will develop roots all along the buried stem. This is how I plant all my tomato transplants and they do very well.

Blueberries should be able to recover next year. Just prune it a little bit when things go dormant. If there is any damage to the cane itself, you can put honey over it. Or you can take cuttings and make more plants also with honey. Read up on it.

We don't know for sure though. Need a better picture or confirmation. If it is mealy bugs, I've had them lots of times. What I do is get 91% rubbing alcohol and a spray bottle. Either hook the spray nozzle to the alcohol bottle or fill it up, spray the hell out of it. After that I rinse the plant off with water from a sprayer. I would also repot if you haven't done so lately. Better aeration and draining soil I believe will help in the future. Too much moisture in soil I think is the problem. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not the greatest nor all knowing on plants and maintenance. Hope I helped and wait a little bit before taking my advice. someone might have better advice. Chad

If using cactus soil, adding lots of perlite would help. Some ppl use this mix at 50/50 ratio (or even more of perlite). Well draining soil is important - otherwise your succulents will rot, sun or not. They don't like having 'wet feet'. Gnats will not disappear for good, as long as there is what the like, they will be back. They lay many eggs in moist soil and keep hatching almost constantly in favorable environment.
