Having a farmer hay your field

Purchasing hay equipment is not realistic for my under 10 acre farm, but neither is a scythe.

Is there a general rule when it comes to having someone cut/prep your hay? And there is WAY more than I could use at this point in time.

And how about trading this hay, for him to do other work around here- such as rototilling, and subsoiling, even reseeding. I have no idea what this sort of work is worth, especially when it won't be a set price but rather for hay that he made himself.

I don't want to get ripped off. Thanks for any help.
