Help! Apple tree came a month early

I ordered an apple tree from Bay Laurel and took Scott Smith's advice and requested a late Feb. delivery date becuase they don't have cold storage. Well, the tree came today!

I don't think the ground is frozen, but it may be. (I'm not planting the tree where I live, but in an area about an hour away at a higher elevation (about 1500 ft. higher than where I am). I won't know the condition until the weekend.

Temps are supposed to be in the teens at night and the low 30s during the day for the rest of the week.

My plan is to try to plant it this weekend, but I'm looking for advice and suggestions. For instance, if the ground is slightly frozen but I can break it up, should I go ahead and plant it?

If I manage to get it in the ground, and the temps for the next few nights are in the mid-teens, will that be a problem for the tree.

If I don't or can't plant it this weekend, what should I do?

Thanks!

Bart
