Hi, It is none of the above. You should be finding light brown cone shaped things like in this photo. http://echinacea.umn.edu/images/achenes.jpg The brown around the edge is not always so dark. Not intending to pirate this thread, but the title is appropriate for my question, so here goes..... I have what appears to be a coneflower, but not positive. Flower was grown from a packet of mixed wildflower seeds. I would like to spread this plant to a few other places so I tried collecting the seeds, but a bit uncertain as to what I have. Finished result seems to be a lot of chaff, very few seeds. Any help in identifying the flower and seed pile would be very much appreciated.
