Heat wave, are my peas screwed?

I know peas are very heat sensitive, but I have some sugar peas (bush according to the package) that have grown to about 8' in height and are just now starting to produce in ernest. They look awesome and taste amazing. The problem is that we've had an unusually cool and wet season so far and that is going to end in a big way with temps jumping into the 90's tomorrow and topping out around 109 on Tuesday. Very dry too. Is there anything I can do to protect them for a little bit longer? I can't stop the ambient air temps, but I could probably rig up a sun shade of some kind with a little effort. Is this going to be worth the hassle?
