How often are you fertilizing and watering?

It's probably because the weather is so wacky. The link below describes causes for the phenomenon, but it's nothing to worry about. Hang in there and you'll see them remain on the plant and grow to eating size!

I fertilized initially with Gardentone when I planted them. I also added some dolomite into the potting mix and stirred it up very well. Then I put some slow release fertilizer on them.

Temps have recently been hot (last few weeks), and prior to that bouncing back and forth between hot and cool (in NC). We also had no rain for over 3 weeks, and for the last 2 weeks, LOTS of rain. I don't overwater. I stick my finger down about 2" and if it's moist, I leave it.

Why the fert and temp questions? Is this normal in some conditions? I don't ever remember seeing tiny peppers falling off before. Thanks.

Thnx anney, just want to clarify that the blooms aren't dropping, but the little green babies are.

As a follow up, does the fact that the fruit, which has already set (vs blossoms), is falling off prompt any other thoughts, or is fruit drop caused by the same reasons as blossom drop?

I had the same thing happen with my jalapenos, but immediately after the two peppers dropped, the plant had a growth spurt and shot up 4 new branches with buds. I think it just wasn't quite ready yet and needed to right itself. I wouldn't get too concerned yet, but keep an eye on it just in case.

Make sure you are not fertilizing with too much nitrogen and too little of the other elements. Other than that, just be patient and the peppers will come. I have grown peppers for 4 years now and I haven't been able to figure out why tiny peppers drop.

Could it be from lack of pollinators?

Probably not, they are considered self-pollinating. Pepper abortion is not unusual in wacky weather conditions and may often be self-correcting.
