The raspberries I bought from Norse were very good quality, much better than the ones I've seen anywhere else. I've gotten really nice trees from Raintree and they have a huge selection.

Where in SC are you? If your anywhere near the south SC you are limited on your raspberry (Bababerry (baylaurelnursery.com only place i know that carries them) or dorman raspberry(lots of places i know carry them)
When you buy your stuff just don't get anything from tyty or Willis Orchard.
Be careful when buying anything from bigbox stores because they might grow in your zone.

Well yeah that is one problem I live in central SC it's zone 8 so most of the varieties are at a max of 8 but I have a cooler and shader area in my yard. It get extremely humid but not so much dry hot.I may just test them. Willis orchard has some Bababerries but after seeing their reputation no way. Baylaurel nursery is kind of pricey. I've noticed in Lowes around here they sell Heritage and Anne Raspberries and apparently they say you can grow them here. What other nurseries sell dorman rapberries?

avoid Willis Nursery, I've had good luck with Cummins and Raintree. And nobody has better berries than Nourse

I live exactly where you live, and I can you that you're wasting your time, if you're trying to grow raspberries. They won't grow here, you're better off sticking to blackberries.

Isoms is a good retailer they get their trees from the same source I do so they are good stock. I have some pear and apples as wells a persimmon you can see our list at www.waddscreek.com. but we do not ship and it would be about 4 hours from you to us.

I saw C&O Nursery and there prices are really good has anyone had experience with them? But I will definitely go with Nource on Berries.

I tryed Heritage here in savannah ga and it doesn't grow that well. The dorman raspberry grows great here and i love the sour taste too (They make great jam too!)

I have used Sakuma Bros. to purchase raspberry and blackberry plants several time and have had great luck with them. There raspberry plants are sold as bare root and the blackberry plants are tissue culture. There online store can be found at http://shop.sakumabros.com.

I moved last year and am in the process of recreating my orchard. As well as local sources, I bought from both Bay Laurel and Trees of Antiquity. The former has a broader array of varieties, esp the Zaiger trees via Dave Wilson Nursery, and I had bought from them years ago and had been pleased. Not this time. The trees they sent had roots that had been absolutely butchered to fit them into a very small square cardboard container. Roots were only 2-3 inches long, and all feeder roots were missing. I complained and receiving an email saying the trees were resilient and would "probably" survive. Contrast that with the trees I got from Trees of Antiquity. Ahead of shipping, I got an email from Neil to say that one of the plum trees I had ordered was of too poor a quality to send, and offering an alternative. When the trees arrived, they were in a much larger box, and had terrific root systems left intact. I have no doubt which of these nurseries I will patronize in the future. I would have liked a few more vareties that were only available from Bay Laurel, but decided not to order them. Will wait till next winter, and order from my local nursery, Walter Andersen, where I know the stock will be first rate, and where I can prepay for unusual varieties.
