I have a beloved Mallard duck(Loo Ann) who has been sitting on her nest for the past three weeks in the 100+ degree heat. We believe the eggs were going to hatch within the next seven days. We was killed last night. There are five eggs in the nest. One egg was mangles beside her remains. I opened up that egg to find an almost fully developed chick attached to the egg still. It is alive. I need to know if there is any hope for the chick and what I should do. Also can I save the eggs in the nest. I don't have an incubator but I have a heat lamp that I raised by mallards with. Can I use the heat lamp and if so what temperature should I maintain them at? Please reply quickly with any information that I may use to save the remnants of my mallard. Thank You.
