Ahzuri,this wont help you now but for next year,check out wintersowing for starting your toms and peppers and srawberries,its helped me out alot,I never was good at growing under the lites.The watering the plants in the ground 3 times a day is definetly gonna kill them with love.:) We got up to 102 a couple of wks ago and it stayed in the mid to upper 90s with no rain and I only watered my veg patch twice a week just to keep it going until it did rain..Just make sure where you do put your garden,you get a lot of hours of sun in the area and get your soil nice and use this year as a experimental learning year although after 30yrs I'm still learning..Sometimes just going out and planting seeds in the ground and keeping the weeds at bay is all you need to do,to have a bit of success..Happy gardening..

Is 3x a day too much? I only wet the ground a bit in the morning and evening and give it a good soak in the afternoon when it the hottest (if it starts pooling during this I stop of course). I only started doing that because after I planted and watered them I didn't water them the next morning thinking they would be fine till I got home from work but my husband ended up calling me and telling me they were wilty looking so he went out and watered them for me and when I got home that day they were looking better.

I will defiantly keep wintersowing in mind for next year and look into it :) I know there is a lot of trying to find out what works best so hopefully it works out for us

Way to much water!! Cut it back to at least every other day. As for germinating seeds I always use a moistened paper towel in a sandwich baggie on the Kitchen window sill and I get about 90% germination.

You're a bit south of me - I'm in Putnam County. You asked what you could still plant - squash - both summer and winter will grow before frost. You should be able to get some beans planted - I'm loving pole beans - they are less maintenance than bush beans and produce for a long time if you keep them picked. I'm planning to seed more okra this weekend - it loves heat and isn't fussy. Later this summer you could put in some brocoli, cabbage, etc. But it's likely too hot now.

You asked about herbs. We live in the Metro Atlanta area. We grow perennial herbs Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Chives, Tarragon, and Sage. In summer we grow lots of Basil. All of these, and perhaps others should do well in your area. I'm not sure about growing them in a sun room. I imagine they would do just fine. Our perennials are grown both in ground and in containers, but we do not bring them in. In late fall, I start a pot of Basil to keep inside during winter. This works OK for us. With your sun room, you should easily be able to have basil all year.

Water them less often but deeply deeply deeply. Pooling is fine as long as the pools drain into the ground within several seconds (depending on soil - faster in sand, slower in clay) - I actually judge my watering by how long it takes for the pools to drain. And you might want to add mulch.
