Hi all,

Here is an updated list of the seeds that I would like for my Ark of Taste garden. The Ark of Taste is a list of foods that are culturally significant or rare. You can check out the website below, or copy and paste this:

I have some Valencia that was just harvested a couple of weeks ago and the seed fermented and dried for next years planting. I also have Brandywine fermenting right now, but I have no clue what strain. It was quite tasty and nice growing plant. If you like Valencia, I would recommend another seed I have fresh from this year -- Persimmon. Similar color to the Valencia -- a little bit larger and fabulous, winning a small taste test this year with my family. I am saving a bunch this year. I would be interested in any of the following (in order): Orca Bean Butternut Squash Delicata Squash Tiger Eye Dry Bean Let me know the source of those seeds. I also have several more kinds of tomato seeds harvested and dried out already for next year.

Sounds like a great shrub for butterflies and hummingbirds. Do you see either or both on it? Can it be pruned to a smaller size than six to ten feet? I will send you an email; I have datura seeds (purple outside, white inside of double blooms), dill and parsely. Maybe basil coming to seed. I am also interested in your balloon flower seeds.

Fran, I too am a winter sower, first time '07. I think what you are doing is really terrific and your list is so varied and full of great choices. While I essentially will have to do SASBE, there is one thing on your list that I might be able to trade Yvonne's Salvia if you are interested. I don't know how to post pictures or links, however there is a wondeful legacy re: that strain of plant. You can google it. I am always amazed at the generosity of GW'ers. You have email. La Donna
