question about color of eggs and duck

I have a black cuyuga (sp?) duck, she is about two years old now, and I have a couple of questions

1. She laid her first egg of the season and it is black in color, like a really thick coating on the gray shell. Is this normal??

2. When I got her last year, she was totally black, now she has several, approx, 1/4 of her her belly and side feathers are now white. What caused this??

she was raised with a dog, and fed dog food. The people didn't know they could eat the eggs!!

They gave her to me free when I bought a used dryer. I feed her along with my goats, so she eats what they do, and I try to give her some laying pellets too, when my goats don't hog it. She is like a little feathered dog, follows me around, fights with my black rubber boots, and will quack at me to pick her up. I just was curious about her eggs and feathers.

thanks
