Planting for formal front entry

I am looking for shrubs to plant adjacent to a front entry way that consists of a covered porch with formal columns. The rest of my gardens are very informal. The siding is blue-gray with cranberry shutters, on a rectangular box know as the colonial. Along the foundation, I have hollies, barberries, boxwoods and a pieris. I tore out the dreaded alberta spruces, but I'm undecided as to go with a matching pair of columnar evergreens (sky pencil holly), a matching pair of something else (nursery recommended ornamental grass), or just go with the informal theme and not use a matching pair at all. Shrubs that I have on hand are two Hicks yews, two leatherleaf mohonia, two emerald green boxwoods, an acuba, and a knockout rose. Any suggestions? Thanks!
