Don't know if will stand your summer heat. Here, I have to wait until it cools off and do a fall crop. Never had an SVB bother the cucumbers but diseases do a number on them in hot humid weather.

Now that is new - actual borers inside the cuke vines? Never had that problem either as the vines on my cukes never get thick enough for a borer to get into.

But, yes, I have to agree you will have to wait for a fall crop unless you have some sort of cooler place where you could put a container of them. That might work.

I obviously dont live in your zone, but I dont see why there would be enough time, considering cukes love heat. I lost my first ones a few weeks ago to damp-off, and went to the nursery the following weekend for replacements, and they are starting to put out their first true leaves.

SVB will get in cucumber vines and because they small the move on and get all them it was so sad I never had them before here till this year I could see them they were huge nasty worms Im ganna try more cucumbers on porch in large pots but no more squash .I will say these pest are the worse Iv every seen hope noone else gets them .

Angie. Make sure that you are not confusing SVB with Pickleworms. Those things are much harder to control than SVB and they attack all curcurbits. The first flight usually arrives here about July 1 or on the winds of the first tropical storm, whichever comes first. I have to get cucurbit crops in and out before they arrive. or afetr they leave in late August. I understand that they overwinetr in Florida, Texas and similar warm winter climates.

No they SVB I saw them they white and big .But now I have to worry abiout these guys to hehehe No more bugs heheheh Im ganna seven dust till they get flowers .Thx Ill watch for the pickle worms here is a pic of my new cucumbers I planted them in pots was afraid the SVB would get them if I planted in ground.
