Pole beans, bush beans, all things beans

I've only tried to grow beans once in another state with very little luck (see also my post on peas).

I'm going to try again here in a different state in a community vegetable garden plot I got.

I'm going to try a few pole beans, bought a couple of step in fence posts and furring strips.

The 'garden' twine I've seen for sale looks pretty flimsy. What should I use for twine? I plan on zip tying wood cross posts top and bottom and wrapping the twine vertically.

Seeds? Or Plants? Or both for a graduated harvest?

I was going to do some bush beans - can I use tomato cages for those?

Also seeds or plants? Or both for a graduated harvest?

I'm single and can't eat all this at once so I am hoping to can some in those half jars (never canned before).

Any tips that go along with the canning plan?

Also - is it worth it to grow your own kidney beans to dry for future use? Not sure I have the space or want to do this but am curious.
