One day I received a strange phone call. this guy called saying he had the same last name as I did (it is not a common name) he said he and his wife karen had just moved here and when ever he moves to a new town he looks up his name to see if there are any relatives in the town. He was nice and after comparing notes no we were not related. fast forward 6 months I got a call one morning waking me up (I was working 3 - 11) this guy said "is Karen there" I did the sorry who are you calling he said are you Karen same last name. I said no he said do you know karen. At this point I guess I was fully awake and I said to him "are you skip tracing for her" he was speechless. lol I told him I was in the credit industry and that was the reason I had figured it out. I was just listed a K same last name. I said we are not related it is a fluke to have 2 of the same name in the town to please remove the number. we both had a good chuckle he said he had never before had someone know what he was doing, and I never heard from him again. Not to make this any longer but when we bought this house and got our new number I kept getting calls for a ron smith after the 5th call I started asking who is calling and low and behold it's credit companies. again I gave them the I know you are skip tracing he no longer has this number you are put on notice that this is not his number and unless you want to violate FDCPA regs do not call again. omg this guy must of skipped out on a bunch of bills these people count on the general public not knowing the laws. the minute they get called on it they will "go away" Karla who now that she is married he is the only one in town with the last name :)

Hi O F (as in "Old Fart") I can testify that Caroline and family are genial and generous hosts, or at least, they were such, about six or so years ago. As to whether her/their activities include stalking, murdering with axes or other similar activities, I can't testify, as I didn't follow them all the time for any length of time. I'd be inclined to say that my experience with them tends to make me conclude that they wouldn't consider such ... ... but you know how may times someone who's later found to have been doing scandalous things ... ... were considered by all in their community who knew them to be fine, upstanding members of that community, incapable of such malfeasance. Such doesn't happen very often, actually ... and fortunately. Plus ... on the province-wide radio phone-in show today, the topic under discussion was whether folks had ever been taken for a ride in more than matters of the heart, in some of the on-line dating services. An official who deals with such things says that much of it is conducted by large gangs who make millions by developing elaborate schemes to defraud people, while breaking their hearts, which they use on at least thousands of people. And they feel that the visible portion is only a tip of the iceberg, as many who are defrauded in such a manner are too embarrassed to admit it ... to anyone, let alone officialdom. Back to the topic at hand ... I think that there's a better chance that one of Caroline's beloved canines would/might pull a fast one on you than that she would: you know how canines lower on the totem pole like to test the boundaries, now and again? I don't think my sis would go to counseling, she does not feel like she has any problems. She acts like being with this guy is fine because, after all, she is the father of her baby! No matter what I said, or what my other sister has said, or what my mom has said, she still tells us that "it is her decision to "BE FRIENDS" (as she puts it) with him and nothing we say will change her mind about spending time with him and moving across the country! Meanwhile it is killing me not to talk to her, and it has only been a few days! I worry about her and wonder if some of this twisted emotion is not partially due to some post pardom stuff? Though, he came in and out of her life during her pregnancy and she would always take him back. My dh says that I should not call her, that it must affect her that I won't talk to her because we have been so close. That maybe my distance will put things into perspective for her. I just hope that I am doing the right thing! Meanwhile, she left the baby with him while she went to a dinner for some friend from her work. I guess that she thinks that because it is his child that somehow his theft and drug use may not affect his ability to care for a child?

I'm sorry some of you have had bad experiences with customs or beurocrats in the USA. As an American citizen, this makes me feel ashamed that visitors should be treated so unkindly. A lot of times, (I've noticed) government employees of any kind in the US do seem to have an attitude even toward we citizens who pay our taxes (their salaries) and we don't like it either. They can be rude and overstressed and unprofessional and I apologize for them. But I hope you don't think all Americans are like that. We aren't. You do have to understand that the US is a little paranoid right now and has been since the attacks on the World Trade Center. This has left us a bit frightened and worried and made travel more difficult and stressful for everyone boarding a plane into or out of or even within the US. But it is still no excuse for rudeness. I came here to find out if there are restrictions about taking or mailing Australian heirloom seeds (tomato) out of Austrailia, (assuming I can find a variety uniquely Australian). I'm told I can't even take some with me OUT of the country (I'm currently visiting). But I did want to comment on the thing about the Los Angeles Airport. I was just recently through there and no the domestic terminal is not "some distance" from the international terminal. I used to live in L.A. and all of the terminals are in a big U shaped street that loops around and can return to itself. There is a shuttle bus there that you can ride free of charge called the "A" bus which will take you to any of the other terminals. It was actually pretty easy.
