inspected the plants i found a green bug on one...looked like small bettle ..definetly not an amphid. Three plants have been affected. The leave have been completed stripped. BTW.. no to get to technical but when the say to pinch the blossoms off to allow the plant develop(first year plants) can you pluck or pull them off? I tried pinching them and the blossom is still there. Should I eliminate them from the plant. This pinching thing doesnt seem to make sense to me. Sorry for the silly questions.

Whether they can or can't crawl back up, new crops of them hatch out all the time. Like aphids, Japanese, Fuller, Curculio and other beetles as well as all other insects which suck or chew the plants, you have to continually battle them during their "season" using whatever methods you've selected. I'm not recommending any method nor attempting to encourage you to go "nuclear" on them, but the less toxic your method, the more interactive you have to be with the control. With more generations regularly hatching from eggs, and more eggs being deposited as long as conditions favor their reproduction, new "slugs" are appearing daily or every few days. So, if you're knocking them off, picking them off or washing them off, you have to be diligent at it. Pick, knock or wash them off daily or every few days as your time, energy and infestation dictate. Or, go with an organic control like the bacterial Spinosad, which knocks down all of the hatched slugs at once for two weeks. That has to be sprayed twice monthly unless it's all washed off by a heavy rain. Yes, it can kill the predators, too, but all "insecticides" will. The point is, you have to determine whether you want to constantly battle them or take stronger measures against them. They not only cause unsightly damage, but ANYTHING which reduces the green leaf area of the rose, inhibits, reduces its ability to feed itself. Reduce the leaf surface area sufficiently and you inhibit the plant's immune system, weaken the plant,by causing it be malnourished, making it more susceptible to other damaging factors such as fungal attacks and potential freeze damage in winter, if that is a possibility where you live. Crickets(brown house crickets) used to zero in on my sprouts and do what it sounds like is happening to your plants. When plants get big they chew the outside layer of the stems and trunks of bigger plants. Plants will look like a beaver chewed on a tree. The tops of the sprouts would be on the soil next to a chewed off stem/trunk. I work nights so the only way I figured out it was crickets was going outside and catching them in the act. They liked sprouts better than the small plants. But they did like chewing the bottom bark off bigger plants later on. They might have gone after the bark because it was summer and there were no more tender sprouts to eat. I saw a few grasshoppers doing the same thing during the day-chewing the bark off plants. They like the stems of pods too. I'd find half ripe peppers laying on the ground untouched except the stems would be chewed. I caught crickets chewing on the pods stems one night and grasshoppers during the day. I bought some nematodes and put them in my potting soil. It seems to have taken care of anything that lays eggs in my potting soil(not earthworms,they only attack certain grubs/larva). Crickets like to crawl into the drain holes in my bigger pots during the day and I think that is how the nematodes can attack them.

That is damage from slugs and yes they are usually only seen at night with a flashlight. They are quite small and during the day they hide in the leaves and mulch around the base of the plants and on the undersides of the leaves and crawl up the leaves at night. There are a number of slug treatments available that you just sprinkle around the base of the plants to kill them. Or you can go out at night and hand pick them or sprinkle them with salt.
