New garden pests/disease questions

I'm brand new at gardening. I have some spinach in a raised bed that is coming in very well and I've been harvesting some baby spinach the past week or so. However, some of the newer leaves are showing white spots and I haven't found what it may be in any books I have. Can anyone help?

Also, some pest is eating my salad mix. I posted this before but because of difficulty in uploading a photo, I never got a definitive answer really. Can anyone identify what may be cause this damage and what to do about it. I have spotted ONE flea beetle. I've sprayed them down with insecticide soap. I had someone suggest liquid Sevin but I would prefer not to damage beneficial species, nor eat leaves that Sevin has been sprayed directly on even after washing. As you can see, they have targeted one species and left others alone.

Any help much appreciated!
