I am only interested in trading for rooted gooseberries and currants on my trade list. I will consider trading for other gooseberries and currants. No wild varieties though. I only want known varieties. That is all I have time to plant right now and all I have room for until next year because I have 100 apple trees to plant this spring. So PLEASE no other offers. I want to go off-topic and say if you don't have blueberries and live in Oregon, they are far superior to both, and a range of early, mid and late will keep you in blueberries all summer and even up to frost. Also my preference after blueberries would be Aronia, then black currants, they have a much richer taste than red currants. They are also loaded with anti-oxidants, 3 berries have as much as 3 glasses of wine. But red currants do hold well and mine are loaded every year. Gooseberries are much poorer yielders. The Black Velvet or dark red ones taste best to me, the green Oregon Champion has typically attracted a fly that lays eggs on them and the larvae strip all the leaves off so I get no fruit. Also there has started to be a problem with the spotted wing Drosophila maggots in red and black currants. I haven't seen them in blueberries yet, I hope that doesn't happen. I am going to put up traps this next spring.

Is there anyone out there who will trade for gooseberry, currants, and figs plants? If you canÂt find any seed or plants you like IÂm willing to pay for shipping of the plants if itÂs cheap. Stuff the box with newspaper to help keep the plant warm or cool during shipping, not those white buff balls that need to be burned in order to decompose.
