I have calamansi and papaya trees. The calamansi is 1 1/2 years old and about 8 inches tall. It can be grown as a container plant or grown outside. I also have a papaya from hawaii that can be grown as a large potted plant or grown outside. If the plant is potted, it may be brought indoors during the winter in areas with cooler climates.[3] I agree with the above except for the fact that the calamansi is not sour - it tastes like a mix between a lemon and an orange - so sour&sweet at the same time.

Yes, and it may very well send up pups, even if it doesn't send up new leaves. I had one that was a donot - the center hole went clean through the corm, but it sent up half a dozen pups before giving up.

Bananas need lots of heat (80-90 f.), humidity, good sun, and regular feeding and watering when in active growth for flowering to occur. Because you are growing this indoors, in the UK, entering the Fall, I would not expect it to bloom any time soon. Your plant will require lighter watering than one growing outside in tropical heat. Keep in mind that even though this plant is most likely a dwarf, it still wants to be several feet tall before it blooms. You might want to supplement with artificial light but it still will not flower unless you can replicate the tropical light and heat it requires for flowering/fruiting. P.S., don't worry about any cuts made on the plant, they will seal off soon.

You might also try the banana forum at the link below. There are numerous members in our area who can provide further info and help. I currently have a couple of banana trees in pots in the backyard adjacent to a canal, fortunately they haven't "grown legs" yet. They do take a lot of water, minimum of a gallon a day, and they are only about 5 feet tall so far. I plan to bring them into the house when the temps start heading for freezing!
