madtripper, I grow them in zone 5. I usually cut mine back in the spring. Unfortunatley they haven't done very well for me. In the spring a late frost will destroy the foliage that has just begun to grow. They don't seem to have much cold tolerance. And once a late frost hits them, it takes them a long time to recover. The other problem I have with them is that they don't seem to grow very tall. Mine only get about 2" tall. Unfortunately I placed them towards the back of the border thinking they would get much taller. This spring I plan on moving them to the front of the border, they might work better for me there. I see that most of the posts are from people in zones 6/7. Maybe they do better where it's just a bit warmer than zone 5.

Thanks Evonne. It seems my have started forming roots already. I am hopeful they will bolossom in the fall. When did your blossom? I saw them as a striking border display at Green Animals last year.

I agree. I have this damage on several different plants this year. The actual bug is hard to find, although I did find four on my weigela a week or so ago and squished them. They are all over the town, I'm noticing, so I wonder what's caused them to come to this area.

AKA Nipponanthemum nipponicum AKA Montauk Daisy will look better if pruned back some. It will resprout from buds farther down the stem. If you want more you can try rooting the pruned off stems.
