I've had my flower beds for 10 years and I'm going to have to google most of what everyone is wanting just to see what they are and what they look like. My top 5 right now is 1. Spuria Irises any color. 2. Oriental Lilies 3. Asiatic Lilies 4. Flowers that bloom until the first frost. 5. Different color day lilies I have no idea the names of the ones I have. I've been trying to put a name to them but so many of them look alike. I am cleaning off my hillside and have black raspberry vines if anyone is interested. I also have Purple Wisteria, old fashioned purple lilac bushes, and a weeping willow tree that I can take starts from get them rooted and send. I don't like taking starts from those unless someone wants them. I've never shipped a plant so I may need some assistance on how the best way is to ship.

Hi guys does anyone have a fairy rose that is at least about a 1 gallon size? I moved mine and one died. I am also looking for limelight Hydrangea and a Penny Mac. If so email me and I will see what I may have from your "wishlist" A lot of what I have is stuff I can steal a little of if requested, but I probably won't dig up for the genral trade. I am really unorganized this year so I still don't have much of a list put together, I won't be bringing a whole lot, but that is my focus for this week, getting things potted up to trade. I have my trades on my page, but I will walk the yard today and see what I can add and hopefully update it again tonight. Here are the things I would like that you all have offerred let me know what you would like in return if you have any of this left. Danielle, is it too late to get one of your 'Tardiva Pink' Hydrangea -- rooted cuttings and a varigated wiegelia? Also is the Walker's Low catmint still available? I have honeycomb butterfly bush I could bring you a couple of cuttings if you tell me what you need exactly, I have never tried rooting one and since we are so close to the trade it would probably be pointless, I will cut them fresh that morning for you. I can also bring you some burgandy bearded iris if you think it won't hurt the clump for me to cut off a section right now, they are still blooming so I don't want to dig up the whole thing. Pins do you still have any of the variuos rooted hydrangea cuttings? I would love a Penny Mac as I mentioned as well as an Annabelle and if Marcy doesn't have a Tardiva still I would take that as well. Beautyberry would also be wonderful. Glynis do you still have any of the wierd Euphorbia you mentioned? Also interested in some of the Van Sion Daffs and Santa Barbara Daisy, I can bring you some various camelia cuttings and Becky shasta daisy as well as a baby red tinged hens and chicks. Linda Gail I have some lemon verbena if you still need it and I think you mentioned hostas, I have some unnamed varigated ones. I would love any of the following that you still have available Spanish bluebells, minature iris, Strawberry Shamrock, Ninebark, Jasmine "winter Beauty" Farmer Pickle is the Blackberry Lily still available? Barb still have extra Mazus? I would love what you can spare. RDhanson-- If they are still available I am interested in magnolia saplings and oakleaf Hydrangea cuttings (any really but specifically Pee Wee)

I can't have anything bulky in my car at my destination, but could drop off my self-watering containers at someone's house on my way up and pick up stuff on the way back. I also have good access to a supply of 4 gallon buckets so could drop those off too. Eggplant seeds!!!! - *any* kind except Black Beauty and Swallow (I have those). Asian or smaller/thinner (not mini) eggplants preferred LARGE pots - over 5 gallons. Plastic preferred. Black Nursery pots ok. Tomato seeds for somewhat cooler weather or shade tolerant plants. ones that can go a little earlier, have a shorter growing period and the plant is a little smaller than normal. Plant supports for smaller plants. Such as peppers or eggplants. Like the ring systems that are used for flowers. I found that while eggplants don't need staking for support, I think they need staking for wind. Small amounts of fertilizer. Fish and seaweed or if someone had the garden tone for veggies that would work too. Or pesticides that would be good for spider mites yet be safe for food.

It's very interesting to read how everyone's experiences differ. In my garden, daylilies refuse to bloom in the shade, perennial salvias only grow well in full sun, and lantana is an annual here. It dries up and dies if it doesn't get water, and won't grow in the shade anyway. Hakone grass is wonderful but sooooo sloooow if you don't get a big clump to start with. The artemesias as a family grow well in the sunny herb garden, but crap out in the shade. Rosemary isn't hardy for me, I keep mine in a huge pot on the patio. Dianthus is going great guns in the herb garden and rock gardens in the sun, but dies in shade. I have four members of the Solomon's seal family, from the little variegated Japanese fairy bells, the false and true Solomon's seal, and the giant variegated, and they all do well with no supplimental water. There are five varieties of lirope here, and all doing great with the drought. Tho one is an invasive monster that is not allowed in the polite company of other plants and makes a circle in rocky soil under a tree where I can keep it confined. A couple of other plants that do well in dry shade for me are the wild petunia, ruellia, which blooms most of the summer from June on, and a little dwarf goatsbeard that appears to be unfazed by the drought. This one is new for me this year so I'm looking forward to see how it does next year. The hosta beds are packed with early spring ephemerals and bulbs, that are pretty much gone by the time the hostas get going well. I just think with the changing climate I will have to change the way I garden, and with what. I realize I can't depend on the "normal" summers of the past, a lesson I have definitely learned from the past two years! I love reading about everyone's ideas and experiences.
