Here are my top 5:

1. Potato onions
2. Actinida kolomikta - variegated hardy kiwi cultivars
3. Bamboo - P. nigra, P. dulcis, P. edulus "Moso"
4. Nut or fruit producing trees, shrubs and perennials
5. Perennial vegetables

I know, the last two are not specific and are kind of cheating but hey, thats my top five!

Michelle, I see that you are looking for pipe vine. I have some California Giant Pipe Vine - Aristolchia californica. I have a small plant but I could root some for you by the end of summer if you are interested. It is a very unusual and rare vine and quite impressive. Just google it and look at the images.

Hey guys. My experice as a gardner is VERY limted. As a matter of fact this is my 1st season of having a yard of any kind, but maybe this will make my experience more valuable. I am in Phoenix, by South Mountain. My soil is clay 6" on top of caliche. All planting but 4 mature plants are new as of late april. Here is what have not died SO FAR YET!! Lantana yellow and purple. Yellow blooming nicely time after time. Purple one is smaller and does not bloom as much but seesm to be hanging in there just fine. Honeysuckle (Mexican/Cape? not sure). One in the afteroon shade is HUGE and doing great but not blooming. 2 in the sun are smaller and some leaves are browned and burnet but it has nice new growth and blooming for some strangest reason in the world. Mesquite tree. Doing fine. It lost all the leaves and some branches dried out, but seems like it rebounded fine and putting out new growth just fine. Boxwood beauty. In the afternoon shade. Doing fine. Growing little by little. Can not find much info about care for this plant. Aloe. $3 tiny thing from IKEA. It was barely visible from the gravel. Afternoon shade. Grew up nicely and now about 12" or more and putting out new leaves. Oleander bush. Afternoon shade. Was blooming. Not anymore, but seems to be in fine shape, however not growing visibly. Pink Baja Fairyduster. Has some yellow leaves but also has new growth. Seemingly doing allright. Penstimon of some kind. Looked almost dead for like 2 month. But now it decided to come to life and put out a bunch of new leaves. So, i suppose its not bad. Desert prikly pear cactus. A bit whilted but seems ok. Purple prickly pear. Mostly lost its purpleness and somewhat whilted but seems allright. Ocotillo. Well..... Hummm........ Its ocotillo LOL Thorny twigs sticking from the ground. But seems like they are greenich in color under its bark and not brittle. So, i suppose they are Ok. Agave Americana. Somewhat dried up and not too great but probably will be OK. Ok, now for stuff that did not make it. Its 2 kinds of plants so far - Ice Plant fell 1st then Uonimous(?). Both in the full sun. Do not think they liked that. My Lemon tree looks pretty sorry with whilted yellowing leaves. Also, my 3 Italian Cypreses seem quite hanging there by a thin tread. erdict on those is to be determined. My mature trees (2 mesquites and polo verde) are doing just fine. Polo does not even get any water as irrigation does not extend that far, but it does not seem to mind too much. My mature agave of some kind, its in the shade, doing super good and putting out new babies. That is about all. I water shrubes every 2nd day and trees 1s a week. Hi all! Been meaning to post here for a while, but it seems there's always something conspiring to divert me anymore. If it isn't diabetic neuropathy and its minions, it's my MIL's medical problems, my SIL's frustrations, overall negative attitude, and lack of empathy, it's our autistic son's recent mystery gastric affliction with attendant vomiting and inability to keep down his meds (can we say "grand mal seizure") and yet another ambulance ride to the emergency room for IV meds, etc. - Yeah,...it definitely hasn't been boring around here lately, although we absolutely, totally wish it were otherwise. Anymore, Elly & I are thinking our son, Roy, may very well be suffering from constipation. Headache, stomach ache, nausea, lack of appetite, etc. Hospital tests couldn't find anything specific. No high temperature or elevated white blood cell count. --shrug-- To add to this, I have yet to properly acknowledge at least 4 wonderful individuals who have traded with me lately. OTOH, our container grown "Little Finger" carrots are doing nicely, and we've harvested some nice shallots, not to mention a continuous bounty of "Ever Bearing" and "Alpine" strawberries. So, I guess, it all kind of evens out, maybe, in a weird sort of way. - Looking forward to fullfilling the seed wishes of others! Totally jazz's me! :)

I also would love to have a Strongylodon macrobotrys. I've heard that they are difficult to grow but I'd sure like to give it a try. The nursery that cannot be named on this site occasionally has them available but they don't guarantee that they'll survive shipping : ( I'm sure I could come up with at least a dozen more vines that I'd like to have. I just hate being in a zone where almost all my vines have to go into the greenhouse over the winter. I got confused with the Firecracker plant, Cuphea ignea and the Candy Corn vine, Manettia luteorubra. I thought I was ordering a Candy Corn vine and ended up with a Cuphea. I should have tried to winter over the one I had last year. I did take the Firecracker plant in before the frost but it's looking terrible. It's still blooming but the leaves are dropping like flies.

I have been hit in the eye with a flying ruella seed. I broke an opal ring digging up Bamboo. We did succeed in containing the bamboo in cement and steel . It was beautiful but a chore. It grew in thick and tall. I had a day flower type flower that went everywhere. Even oxalis became invasive. It took over. The wandering jew and oxalis were a good combo. when the wandering jew was still frozen back to the ground the oxalis would be up and blooming and when in May it got rust and dies, the wandering jew took over. I just let the invasive plants duke it out. I got tired of the battle and put the house up on the market. Now I dig up every oxalis I see on my new property so I can maybe grow some succulents instead.. I did bring some of my plants from the old house and the soil was infected in oxalis corms. Now I just battle cedar. It is easy if you have a chain saw and a match. Out here it is KR bluestem and yellow clover that is proving troublesome. I had an infestation of crownvetch that gets me a ripping in the spring. Most plants that people have problems with is that they aren't giving the plant the room it needs to establish its natural colony. My grandmother had a whole hillside of blackberry. They made a lot of jam. The gregg's mist flower is great if you can give it it LARGE area. otherwise, don't bother. No one has mentioned Pampas grass. I hate cutting it back after a cold winter. Talk about bloody arms! New Zealanders call it sword grass. It made exploring the south island a real chore back in the old days and It has become quite invasive in Californian wetlands. The variety I had not very impressive blooms and the first august storm would drown out the plume pretty quickly. Maybe one of you guys bought my house and all the invasives, and are still swearing at me. LOL. I am much more careful of my choices, now. I have moved west of austin and invasiveness on this high rubble is not the issue. Getting anything to live out here is my challenge.

Oh! I love these kinds of threads! At the moment my top 5 wants would be:

1. Moses' Fire Daylily
2. Veilchenbleu Rose
3. double flowering helleborus [like Double Queen Lenten Rose]
4. Tall Bearded Iris [any named ones but especially Lady Friend or Hunter's Pink]
5. Fountain Butterfly Bush---Buddleia alternifolia

Haven't reassessed my plant stock yet to see what survived this winter but know I will have oooodles of Walker's Low nepeta, some daylilies[named and unknown], perennial asters, yarrow, coreopsis, and some gallica rose starts.

Can't wait to get back out and dig in the dirt!

I have Lady Bank's rose (white and yellow) that I can take cuttings from once they are done blooming and also Confederate rose (pink) that is dormant now. If you want, let me know. once it comes out of dormancy and puts out new growth, I can send cuttings.

Thanks for the offer on the Lady Banks cuttings. I work next door to a lady that has the yellow and so will more than likely get cuttings from her and try my luck at rooting them. =o)

Sorry I only have a few left since I never heard of them before and planted 4-4 packs because I wasn't sure if they would germinate...well guess what? They ALL germinated! But not a problem, I will share with my families I am teaching to garden.

I've had my flower beds for 10 years and I'm going to have to google most of what everyone is wanting just to see what they are and what they look like.

My top 5 right now is
1. Spuria Irises any color.
2. Oriental Lilies
3. Asiatic Lilies
4. Flowers that bloom until the first frost.
5. Different color day lilies I have no idea the names of the ones I have. I've been trying to put a name to them but so many of them look alike.

I am cleaning off my hillside and have black raspberry vines if anyone is interested.

I also have Purple Wisteria, old fashioned purple lilac bushes, and a weeping willow tree that I can take starts from get them rooted and send.

I don't like taking starts from those unless someone wants them.

I've never shipped a plant so I may need some assistance on how the best way is to ship.

Ferncreek - The rabbits have left my helleborus foetidus alone so far and I saw that on your wish list. Do you still need some? I can't help with your other top five wants - especially that one about the family pitching in to help. lol I definitely don't have that one. Wish I did. : )

Well, I love David Austin roses and I have most of the ones you can order in the US. However since David Austin roses are started in the UK, there are ones that aren't available in the US yet. I am dying to get these roses!!!
