Have White Wild Rose Clippings

I have a huge/full wild rose bush, that has small white flowers... I have plenty to spare clippings... It grew very big within a matter of months... had tons of little white flowers on it, already...

What you have is probably a multiflora rose,it grows everywhere.

If it is the multiflora rose, then it probably harbors the mites that cause Rose Rosette disease in "domesticated" roses. While the multiflora does not seem to be bothered, Rose Rosette disease kills the other roses and is easily tranferred to other roses. If it is multiflora, then it is best to cut it down and burn it.

I like the hybrid musks Moonlight, a creamy white with good rebloom, Prosperity gets really big, repeats well, and Penelope. Penelope has apricot buds and can have a blush of pink or apricot that fades to white. For tiny blooms I like Lindee with dime sized blooms and good vigor. Makes a nice 3 or 4' shrub. Darlow's Enigma is a healthy, wild looking white. Lucille is a great bloomer, a small found rose with delicate, luminous blooms but bs prone. A friend gave me Sweet Afton , too early to say much. Another friend has Royal Highness , a mostly white ht with outstanding fragrance. I hear good things about Margaret Merril (sp?). I like the teas Angel's Camp Tea, mostly white, very fragrant with good rebloom. Also Madame Joseph Schwartz. I used to have Garden Party and liked it a lot..had pretty good bs resistance here, and bloomed very well. Moonstone is gorgeous. Martine Guillot is prolific, vigorous and healthy, mostly white. What about Secret's Out?

In my garden, there isn't a big difference between the species and the near-species. It's more a matter of opinions and technicalities. Which is more 'refined' R. hugonis, or Complicata? Is Apothecary Rose really a species? or Tuscany? Then there is the entire clan of Scots roses. My screen saver is set to cycle through all of my rose photographs. The one that really strikes me every time is a photograph of Double Blush Burnet. Is it the rose or the photograph? Doorenbos Selection, R. moyesii 'Geranium', Hebe's Lip. Then there is the greatest of Austins, at least in my garden - Robbie Burns. Rebloom is almost always a mixed blessing here. Is it really worth the problems it almost always brings with health and hardiness issues, or is it something we can do without for a month or so of flowers, ornamental hips, and a good looking shrub otherwise?

I have wild roses here too :) It is the the name of our town... My hybrid roses dont seem to be bothered at all with the wild ones... I have the pink ones...I just love them... They dont have a care in the world unlike some of the hybrids..:))) They grow together happily :)

Not all wild roses have the mites. I don't know how many states have Rose Rosette disease, but it is a serious problem. I have seen nurseries selling infected roses. I have it my yard now....so am afraid I will lose several of my favorite roses.

I was excited to think I had "wild roses" on my property! If only I had known back then. I have multiflora bushes that are 20 or 30 feet tall and have been fighting losing battle for years.....

I also want to mention that Round Up drift can cause similar damage to roses....as I have accidentally gotten it on a few roses several years ago even though I thought I was being careful.
