Asphalt driveway with paver borders and landings

Hi there,

We have an existing asphalt driveway which I'd like to add another 4 ft of parking space, along with widen a foot on each side. Then I wanted to border around the driveway with pavers, I think the width of the border or "ribbons" as they are sometimes called are around 24" wide. I like the way the paver borders finish off the driveway, (it's kind of large). Plus take out some asphalt at the driveway entrance and sidewalk area landing and use pavers there. (with those being the width of my drive and about 6 ft. wide) My question is... "Which should be done first? The pavers or the asphalt? I have seen other people do this occasionally so there has to be a "right way". The other alternative is to have the whole driveway done in pavers, which I am kind of leary about. It seems risky because of the oils and such that leak from cars, and the the snowplowing issues. Anyone have any ideas? Many Thanks in Advance!
