I have a Halcyon slightly in front of and beside Krossa Regal, with a relatively young Blue Mammoth (first year last year but a big plant to start with) and they work great together with the the blue, thick-textured leaves tying them together and the leaf shape and size, and the differing shapes, distinguishing them. It just works. I have other things in that mix, mostly golden (a small japanese maple Golden Full Moon surrounded by a small irregular "lawn" of limey green Irish Moss in front of them to the side of the Blue Mammoth, with has Aureovariegata Hakone grass beside it, backed by a Tiger Eye Sumac and all fronted with a lime-yellow-green thyme), which I think is important to the overall effect (as is the very formal dark pyramidal capitata yew with a Liberty Hosta on its other side). There is also a weeping hemlock behind the sumac. I guess my point with all that detail is that they are a great combo because of what they are with...they ground it all.

Remember back when June went into widespread tc and there was so much variability that people started to label the stock June I, June II, June III, June IV and such, trying to codify how yellow/creamy the centers were? Eventually, the June that went into very wide circulation ended up to be a lighter center than the Junes from the early batches. (I still prefer the subtler color.) So I agree with Ken - don't see that this is different from June - or the wide range of variations within the plant we call June. One possible exception - there are light centered sports of Halcyon that are similar to, but distinctive from June. Two that come to mind are Paradise Joyce and Olympic Sunrise. PJ colors up much more slowly than June and tends to develop a splotchiness that makes people worry about virus... and Olympic Sunrise, in a photo, could be indistinguishable from June except it colors up more slowly and it has significantly larger leaves than Halcyon and June and the rest of the family. So maybe this one has larger leaves or something... can't tell that from the description, though. Looks like June to me...
