Actually put your peppers and egg plant in containers. They do really well in them. You can also do tomatos in the deep utility buckets.

It is hard to give accurate advice if we don't know where you are. Have you already bought seed?

Peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes should all go in containers, and should probably be started indoors and grown under lights. If you don't have seed yet, buy a few plants and put those in containers when the time is right in your area.

Peas should probably be planted already. You won't get many from that size bed, especially if the warm weather continues, so plant all of the peas on one side of the bed or in the center. Broccoli and cauliflower will take up a lot of space, so only plant a few seeds at a time, but do it every month. Spinach is best to grow in spring and fall, it will bolt quickly in summer. Carrots are the hardest thing on your list to grow. They must be sown in place for best results, and properly watered and thinned.

Cucumbers should be sown in place, they don't transplant well. They need warm soil to germinate and grow well, so you may be better off waiting - everything depends on where you are.

I am a square foot gardener. I have grown all of your choices in my raised beds. I started the first year with three 4x4 sections and the next year added to them to make a total of 96 square feet. The peas I plant in at least 3 squares and I plant Lincoln which is a later variety. I soak the seed for a couple days before planting. There are only 2 of us, so that is working out well. I grow my cukes and tomatoes on the trellis to save space. Last year my broccoli kept sprouting side shoots and I was able to harvest through December (warm winter). For carrots, I use a short variety that only get 6" deep. They are very fat and tapered. The way to do it in SFG is to take a paper towel and glue 1 or 2 seeds at 3" intervals (should give you 16 plants in 1 square foot. Use Elmers school glue (water soluble). Place the paper towel in the garden and cover with a tiny bit of soil and keep moist. Worked great for me.

how do i protect my container veggies from the animals? deer, squirrels, etc. they come right up to our door. do i need to fence them in the same way we're fencing in the raised bed?

You can also try the old "hang pie pans in the trees" bit to keep deer away. They're bright and shiny, they move in the wind, and if you put them close enough that they'll clank together when the wind blows it should keep the deer away. For a while at least.

I put all my peppers in containers. My growing season is a little short for them, and the soil is warmer in containers. It works better for me than planting them in the ground.

I honestly have never seen a tomato plant do anywhere near as well in pots than they do in the ground. So I'd plant them in the ground only.

I grew peppers in pots last year, and although they grew a little smaller in the pots than the same variety did in the ground, they still did OK.

I am growing leafy greens in pots this year, because I'm out of space elsewhere.

I'm growing Bib lettuce, spinach, chard, collards and trying broccoli, brussel sprouts and kohlrabi in pots too.

I dont know how well all these plants will do in pots, especially the broccoli, brussel sprouts and kohlrabi, but I've already put those plants in 2 weeks ago, so we'll see.

The broccoli and lettuce seem to growing well, as is the chard.

Peppers, greens, and herbs do great in containers (or have for me I should say)....

Tomatoes do good as well, they would be bigger in ground but I still get them 5ft-6ft high giving lots of fruit in containers. Needs to be deep though, 5 gallon minimum, bigger is better.
