It is very beautiful. If I'm unable to get seeds, I'll buy a few plants in the spring. It seems to be easier to find the plants than the seeds. But I'll keep searching until then. :) Karen

Lisa, it's a great plant, but I can't be very encouraging on seeds. Seems to me that I read somewhere (maybe the NE Wildflower Guide?) that the seeds are (1) difficult to collect and (2) have a low viability rate. It is however supposed to be fairly easy to grow from cuttings and I know that after breaking off a large stem by accident earlier this summer, I stuck it in the ground and it definately rooted pretty quickly.

If you buy it now I don't think it will do very good indoors all winter. It sounds like it has a tap root that doesn't like transplanting or being in a pot too long. And planting outside this late is iffy even if you protect it with mulch and a burlap tent. $11.34 plus how much is the S&H? I bet it grows easily from seed. I know a guy who knows someone else who may be able to get seed for this one. I haven't got a response to my last email, hope he's not in jail again (joking). I will let you guys know if I get some seeds. The sale ends Nov. 15 so we have a month to decide. Oh, wait a minute... Do you buy it now and they ship in April? Is that the deal? $4.00 a plant (plus tax plus S&H) delivered in April and they over winter it isn't too bad I guess. I wonder if there is someway to split the S&H costs, Say if we found 6 people that wanted one each, one person orders 6 and the other 5 each send a SASBE and a few extra $1.05 stamps to make up the diff. Have to noodle with this one.

Not in Morris County, but Rare Find Nursery in Jackson (Ocean County) carries them. They do ship, but the nursery is worth the trip. Not a fancy place, but they know their stuff and have a wonderful selection of plants.
