Start with new soil each season?

Hi all,

I am sure this question has been asked and answered, but could not find it in search. This is the first year that I have a serious container garden (serious for me :)), 2 x watermelon, 4 x tomatoes, 1 x squash, 3 x green peppers. These items listed are in pots about 20" in diam about 16" deep, almost size of 5 gal pale. As organic as possible (No chemical additives from me). And all is doing well. Fertilized with Seaweed, egg shells, fish emulsion, organ bone meal..... Everything is doing well. Except a tomato plant I stuck in a 6" deep pot! :) But it did produce!

Not sure what info is relevant for final question, supplying xtra i'm sure.

This many pots is about $100 or so investment in soil, oganic soil + yellow gold compost manure. Question is, when I want to plant again, what should I do with the soil? I would think it would be depleted of nutrients by this time, is amending with compost good enought? Should I do more? I will rotate plant types and soils.
